Parish Letter

May 2021

Wow! May already – I can’t believe it… Thank you all for the wonderful warm welcome to Nidderdale. We have so much enjoyed getting to know you. Thank you for the wonderful experience of church buildings being very nearly full! (covid full anyway). Thank you for being so happy to sit and chat with me when I invite myself to meet you. We are delighted to say that we love it here.

I joined our Area Dean on a LYCiG Growth group Zoom this week and we were sharing stories of how our churches are doing as we emerge from the lockdown. It was so encouraging to hear about the people coming to faith over zoom and people returning to church with renewed confidence in God’s love and care for them. I would love to listen and share in some of your experiences too.

I wonder whether there is anyone who would be interested in a 6 week Fellowship Group starting at 7pm on Thursday 20th May, 27th May, 3rd June, taking a week off 10th June, but restarting 17th June, 24th June and finishing on 1st July? I intend that we pray, study God’s Word and talk about how we live it in our daily lives. We will get to know each other and enjoy spending some time together, we can support those who need support and we can encourage one another. Please let me know if you would like to do this with me by emailing suzy.mccarter@leeds.anglican.org or let Gill Clarke know and she will pass your details to me. I do hope that you are all looking forward to May and the joys of Springwatch and 2 Benefice Services that we hope many of you will join us for Pentecost on 23rd May in Birstwith at 11.00 and the opening of Killinghall church on 30th May at 11.00 for their first service after the builders.

God bless you all!
